can Buddhism be Buddhism???

ideally,
Buddhism
should be Buddhism
where ever it is.

but the truth is
can Buddhism survive as Buddhism
in the western world.

it reminds me of
how Buddhism
made it's headway
into China
when
Taoism was the most influential philosophy then.
Buddhism
was described a part of
or similar
to Taoism
to make itself palatable
and understandable
to the Chinese at that time.

a similar senario
is playing out in the Western world
when
psychology
influences the thought of the modern westerners the most.

Buddhsim
has to be presented
as a branch of pcyhology
so
it will be more palatable
as well as more acceptable
to the Western world.

Buddhism
is known
for it's mealleability
and it's mutability
while retaining it's core essence
in different parts of the world
and different culture.

that way
it will make headway
into the western world
and
will then become an entrenched part of the western world.

yes
some part of Buddhism
will be distorted
in an attempt
to fit into psychology.

but Buddhism
as such
or which i call it
as it is
will always be there
for those
who are interested
to explore more of the real Buddhism.

first thing first.
unless
Buddhism
is potrayed
as part of Psychology
it may not
make it's way
into the brain mind
of the people of western world.
